Milk Bath Newborn Photoshoot
May 4, 2020Shopping with the McCorkle’s
July 14, 2020The McCorkle’s just joined up with Usborne Books as part of our drive to support education for all of our kids (2, 4, and 14) and help influence other families to grow in learning through reading.
We had seen these books once before but didn’t realize it was something we could join, it was a pretty immediate decision for us! Especially with the kids at home more right now, our book supply is SEVERELY lacking & we aren’t exactly opting to use our public library.
A MESSAGE FOR THE MOMS, FROM A MOM:
OK, I first agreed to host a book party on Facebook with very low hopes. I knew I personally wanted to buy some books for my kids, so why not try to get some perks and discounts. I was surprised when so many friends responded to my invitation with a resounding ” We LOVE Usborne Books! Yes I’d love to come!!”. OK….Cool! Then I made my wishlist……and I wanted All THE THINGS. The hostess of the party then told me that I could join for $75 or $125, get a ton of books with that and get 25% off for life. Well, that actually made sense and it did not take much to get my hubby on board. Who knows when our kids will be able to go back to school, and who couldn’t use awesome books to help teach them about all different subjects? The hostess made the party super easy too- so it was a no brainer.
A MESSAGE FOR THE DADs, FROM A DAD:
I first came across these books years ago at a book fair at my son’s school where there were these amazing books that opened and had a car that could drive along it as part of the story.
The Busy Car book is linked to the left.
Asher was just two years old then and we sat and played with this book for a half hour and didn’t want to leave that part of the book fair. There were tears when we left, Asher was going to make it but I wasn’t sure I could choose and only get ONE! Only kidding I wasn’t crying! I did cry a little though when I learned just recently (after probably 2 years passed) that USBORNE was the creator of these brilliant books and now they have even more variations!!
So Dads, these aren’t the traditional children’s page turners or gold bind (though those are special), these are interactive and fun adventures built into a book!
Speaking of non-traditional, how about BEAR GRYLLS adventure books and BUG planes!
I’ve had other tear out plane books before but those plane designs didn’t fly, these actually fly really well too!
Missy asked me, “should we sign up for this?” , and when I asked, “…what is this program?”, she reminded me of my favorite car book. I looked it up and said to sign up immediately with the large bundle too! I’m not an easy sell especially on these online things, and I’m penny pinching where saving is my motto, but with these I was sold right away! I was also pretty thrilled they had some MINGO books as well!
Don’t let me or my love of flamingos talk you into it, check it out for yourselves.
